Grand Junction just got more fun — with the grand opening of Silo Adventure Center’s trampoline park and fitness area set for Friday, April 25.

Located in what was formerly Mesa Feed Mart across the street from The Daily Sentinel on Seventh Street, owner Joe White said his father owned the old Mesa Feed stop from the 1970s to 2003.

“I bought the property back last year,” he said, in hopes of creating a business based on passion for an active lifestyle.

A fitness studio, complete with pilates tables and a group class area, is located in what was Mesa Feed’s retail store, with an extensive “Get Air” trampoline and foam park installed in the structure’s vast warehouse. One hour of free-for-all fun at Silo Adventure Center costs $12.

Activities — like dodgeball — occur in the “20,000 square feet of floor-to-wall indoor trampolines,” its website said.

According to Joe’s wife, Mita, classes like Zumba, yoga, and ballet bar will be hosted, along with plenty of games for kids and even an area for parties. And the trampoline area is for both children and adults — “from just walking to walker.”

Kids under 46 inches need adult supervision, she added. Staff will also be on site during business hours.

“We’ve already hired 12 employees,” Joe said.

And though Silo Adventure Center is only just opening, the Whites are already planning a second and third phase of construction — a ninja warrior “extreme physical obstacle” course is coming in the fall, Joe said, with climbing walls planned for the property’s silos in 2015.

“We have four silos, 85 feet tall, 16 feet in diameter,” he explained.

Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight.
