Kiewit Western Co., a Littleton-based contractor which recently opened a satellite office in Rifle, has received the construction industrys highest honor for partnering excellence for its work with project owners and the community on the $1.67 billion Transportation Expansion (T-REX) Project in Denver. This marks the first time a construction project in Colorado has received this distinction. T-REX team members included the Colorado Department of Transportation, the Regional Transportation District, the Federal Highway Administration, the Federal Transit Administration, and the general contractor Southeast Corridor Constructors (SECC), a joint-venture partnership of Kiewit Construction and Parsons Transportation Group. Although the company just opened the Rifle office earlier this year, Kiewit has a long history of working on the Western Slope, from Grand Junction to Glenwood Canyon. Current projects include the re-paving of Rim Rock Drive in Colorado National Monument and building an access road to the oil wells off Wheeler Gulch in Parachute.

Michael Chandler, president of The Chandler Marketing Co. in Glenwood Springs, has been selected to address the ICBA National Convention for the 12th consecutive year. Chandler joins Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and other banking industry experts as guest speaker. ICBA hails Chandlers ground-breaking communication strategy, Dreamweaving, as the countrys most powerful bank marketing strategy. Chandler is the creator and author of the best-selling Pelican Publishing book by the same name. The results of Dreamweaving tactics have been featured on ABC World News Tonight.
