Carbondale campaign finance update

The Post Independent received campaign finance reports for Marty Silverstein and Wayne Horak, candidates running for Carbondale’s Board of Trustees, on Monday following the Friday deadline.

Town Clerk Cathy Derby said via email that she had Silverstein’s report by deadline on Friday, but Horak hadn’t submitted his until Monday.

During the second reporting period, which ran from March 15 to April 1, Silverstein raised another $400. Over the course of the race he’s raised $1,200 in total.

His campaign spent $421.57 in the second period, bringing his total campaign spending to $811.57.

In the first reporting period Horak spent $183.60 of his own money, but during the second period he didn’t raise or spend any.

That brings the total amount of money raised by candidates and the political committee supporting the climate action tax to $7,349. Collectively, the campaigns have spent $8,465.37.
