Carbondale Community School open house Feb. 25

The Carbondale Community School, a public charter school of the Roaring Fork School District, will host an open house for prospective students and families at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 25.

The school’s annual enrollment lottery for the 2016-17 school year is coming up, and the open house is a chance for families of incoming kindergarten through eighth-graders to learn about the school.

Principal Tom Penzel review the school’s mission, philosophy and curriculum, and will lead a question-and-answer session and student portfolio review.

Guided tours are also available by appointment on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m.

The lottery deadline for next school year is April 1. Applications received after the deadline are considered on a space-available basis.
