Carbondale police seeking possible police impersonator

The Carbondale Police Department is seeking information about a report of a male possibly impersonating a police officer.

The suspect is described as a white male, heavy set, bald, no facial hair, blue eyes, middle-aged, and approximately 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches. The vehicle is described as being similar to a police vehicle with very dark tinted windows, with POLICE written on the sides covering the front and rear doors, and 911 on the rear fender.

Police officials are asking anyone who sees this vehicle to safely try to obtain the license plate number and contact the Carbondale Police Department or another local law enforcement agency.

Police agencies in Colorado do not request immediate payment of a fine for a citation. If contacted by police and you become concerned call 911.

Carbondale Police Department, Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, and the Colorado State Patrol are the three main agencies in our immediate area. Officers should have identification indicating their name, rank and agency.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Carbondale Police Department at 970-963-2662.
