Cdale students get jump on Thanksgiving

The annual Thanksgiving El Toga has been a tradition at the Carbondale Community School for an estimated 15 years.

Every year on the Friday before Thanksgiving break the seventh- and eighth-graders, along with parent volunteers, put together a lunch for parents and students of the entire learning center.

Each grade made a short presentation or elected a student to recite a poem they wrote about what Thanksgiving means to them.

Fiona O’Donnell, chef at Colorado Rocky Mountain School, prepared the turkey, green beans and mashed potatoes for the event. The pumpkin pie was provided by Village Inn.
