City of Glenwood Springs offers LED lighting rebates

The City of Glenwood Springs and CLEER are helping Glenwood residents and business owners afford energy efficient LED lights with rebates on bulbs.

Rebates up to $15 per bulb are available, depending on wattage.

LED bulbs are typically four to five times as energy efficient as standard incandescent bulbs and can last 30 times as long. Historically, however, they’ve been very expensive, but in recent years the cost of LEDs has come down significantly.

“Today’s LED lamps offer much greater performance and are cheaper than just a few years ago, and home and business owners save time and money on maintenance because of their long life.” said Shelley Kaup, CLEER (Clean Energy Economy for the Region) energy coach. “They really are the lights of the future.”
