Community organizing talk at RFHS Thursday
Roaring Fork Schools and the Manaus Fund partner to host Mark Warren for a free talk on community organizing at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Roaring Fork High School in Carbondale.
Warren will speak to how community organizing can a catalyst for school reform, and is part of a broader agenda to address socio-economic and racial inequalities that affect education of children, according to a school district news release.
Warren is a professor of public policy and public affairs at the University of Massachusetts-Boston. He is the author of “A Match on Dry Grass Community Organizing as a Catalyst for School Reform” (2011), and “Transforming Public Education: The Need for an Educational Justice Movement” (2014).
