East end of Donegan to remain closed into next week
A closure at the east end of Donegan Road will continue into the first week of August due to unforeseen circumstances related to utility work for the Oasis Creek Apartments project.
Donegan Road is closed east of Sunny Acres Drive and west of Highlands Drive for utility installations associated with the development.
The road closure is being extended due to material availability, according to a city news release. Because of the depth and location of the excavation, the road must remain closed, it said.
Completion of the utility work will depend on delivery of the materials. A detour route to U.S. 6 for those on the west side of the closure is provided at Soccer Field Road.
Meanwhile, paint-striping operations are also scheduled to take place from July 31 to Aug. 2 on Donegan, as well as Blake Avenue, Pitkin Avenue and Devereux Road.
Parking will not be allowed on these streets during the striping operations, and drivers should expect delays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the city release said. Following is the schedule:
Monday: Crews will be striping on Blake Avenue between Seventh and 14th streets, Donegan Road and Devereux Road.
Tuesday: Striping will occur on Blake Avenue from 14th to 23rd.
Wednesday: Striping operations on Pitkin Avenue.
