The Eagles Club on Seventh Street in Glenwood Springs is serving the tail end of a 32-day liquor license suspension that began in January, after reportedly serving to non-members.

According to the Colorado Department of Revenue Liquor Enforcement Division, the establishment allegedly served a beer to a non-member in June of 2014.

Because the club was already under an October 2013 agreement related to a similar incident that held its liquor license in abeyance for one year, follow-up action was necessary, according to state officials.

The agreement reached in December called for separate five- and 16-day suspensions in January, and another 10-day suspension that began Feb. 6 and ends after Sunday, according to documents provided by the state.

“It’s not our intention to shut a business down in these situations, so we do try to work with them,” Department of Revenue spokeswoman Daria Serna said. “That way they can continue to have revenues during a portion of that time.”

Under the agreement, the Eagles Club has also agreed to seek a change in its license classification within nine months, from a club license to a tavern license, according to the state agreement.
