Edwards man arrested for allegedly threatening to set a co-worker on fire

EDWARDS — An Edwards man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly bringing gasoline to his restaurant job and threatening to set a co-worker on fire.

Roberto Diaz Estrada, 41, is a kitchen worker at Henry’s Chinese Cafe in Edwards.

Estrada, who is in the country illegally, brought three containers to the job with him, says the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office. Each container held about 2 inches of gasoline in the bottom, police said.

Estrada told deputies he and the co-worker were involved in a verbal disagreement before they went to work. He said he wanted to scare him into thinking he was going to throw the gasoline on him.

Estrada is being held in the Eagle County jail on a $2,500 bond and an ICE hold. He’s booked on charges of felony menacing and reckless endangerment.
