El Jebel meeting focuses on health insurance rating zones

Where: Eagle County Community Center, 20 Eagle County Drive, El Jebel

Colorado Insurance Commissioner Marguerite Salazar will visit El Jebel and the Roaring Fork Valley on Saturday as part of a community meeting about healthcare in the Roaring Fork Valley.

The commissioner will be available to discuss the rates and access to health care in mountain communities, specifically addressing the “resort region rates” as defined under the Affordable Care Act and Connect for Health Colorado exchange.

State Sen. Gail Schwartz will be joined by Reps. Millie Hamner, Diane Mitsch Bush and Bob Rankin to answer questions and listen to constituent concerns. Health care and insurance providers will be present to discuss options for and listen to feedback from community members and local elected officials.

“We are hearing from our constituents and recognize the frustration and challenges associated with health care costs for our workforce in these communities,” said Schwartz. “This meeting is an important opportunity for citizens and businesses to voice their concerns and participate an open and valuable discourse.”

The public is welcome at the event.
