El Pomar seeks to expand enrichment programs

Staff Report

Does your organization have an after-school or summer enrichment program?

The El Pomar Foundation’s High Country Council, which serves Clear Creek, Eagle, Lake, Pitkin and Summit counties, is accepting requests for proposals from organizations that provide or seek to provide quality out-of-school programs.

Applications will be accepted through April 10.

A focus of the council, which is part of El Pomar’s regional partnership program, is helping children realize their full potential by extending the positive benefits of participation in after-school and summer programs to all students.

Organizations must be a 501(c)3 or government equivalent and provide quality out-of-school programs for students who lack access. Ideally, recipient organizations already serve under-resourced, low-income or otherwise at-risk youth.

To request a grant application, please email rduke@elpomar.org. Applications must be completed and submitted electronically.

El Pomar Foundation is one of the largest and oldest private foundations in Colorado and contributes statewide approximately $22 million annually through grants and community stewardship programs supporting Colorado nonprofits involved in health, human services, education, arts and humanities, and civic and community initiatives. Spencer and Julie Penrose founded El Pomar in 1937.

El Pomar Foundation’s 11 regional councils represent all 64 counties in Colorado and are composed of local business, public and nonprofit leaders. More information can be found at http://www.elpomar.org.
