Fire damages home in Silt

A home at 1245 Em Ave. in Silt sustained significant damage from a fire late Wednesday afternoon.

At 5:40 p.m., Colorado River Fire Rescue responded to the blaze. Firefighters arrived on the scene in a little over three minutes to find smoke and flames coming from a window. A total of 20 firefighters and nine pieces of firefighting equipment responded.

The Silt Police Department and American Red Cross also assisted the residents and fire crew.

Property value loss is undetermined at this time, according to Silt officials, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
