RELAY FOR LIFE
Relay for Life, a fundraiser, is scheduled on June 26, from 6:30 p.m. to midnight at Fruita 8/9 School.
LINKS AND LINE DRIVES
In honor of JUCO week in Grand Junction, the St. Mary’s Senior Companion and Foster Grandparent Programs will host the “Links and Line Drives” golf tournament at 8 a.m. on Friday May 29, at Adobe Creek Golf Course in Fruita. The tournament is a shotgun start, with a four-person scramble.
Contests will include a $10,000 Hole in One Prize, longest drive with a baseball bat and closest to the pin. Other events include team pictures, lunch with Mr. JUCO, and a silent auction.
The entry fee is $100 per person, which includes green fees, cart and lunch. All proceeds benefit the St. Mary’s Hospital Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs. Call 970-298-9092 to register.
St. Mary’s Senior Companion Program provides volunteer opportunities to persons 55 and older that provide supportive services to home-bound seniors in an effort to achieve and maintain their highest level of independent living. Senior Companions provide services to over 300 homebound elderly men and women each year.
St. Mary’s Foster Grandparent Program provides volunteer opportunities to persons 55 and older to use life experiences to tutor and mentor special-needs and/or at-risk youth in a classroom.
