RIFLE — After about three-and-a-half years on the job, Frank Ladd, president and CEO of the Rifle Area Chamber of Commerce, has resigned and taken a job as executive director for the Fruita Chamber of Commerce.

Ladd’s last day with the Rifle chamber was last Tuesday.

Ladd had a hand in the chamber helping increase the tourism budget for Rifle, purchasing a new office for the chamber on Railroad Avenue and bringing a rural philanthropy conference to Rifle in 2015.

The Rifle Area Chamber of Commerce has also combined with the Silt Chamber of Commerce under his tenure.

“We’ve seen a 50 percent increase in our cornerstone sponsors and we have a good relationship with the (Garfield County) commissioners,” Ladd said.

Ladd also serves on the Chamber of Commerce State Board, which oversees chambers from around Colorado and organizes meetings and provides outlets of information for chamber executives.

In his new position as executive director for the Fruita Chamber of Commerce, Ladd will have much of the same responsibilities.

“I’ll be proactive,” he said. “There’s a lot of up and coming things happening in Fruita and a lot of stuff going on.”

And although he’s moving on, he’s glad for the time spent in Rifle.

“I’m grateful and happy for what I’ve learned,” Ladd said. “I appreciate everybody’s help and the community involvement.”
