Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
And another dog: At 1:21 p.m. on April 4, deputies received a complaint about a dog in custody in the Rifle area. The dog was impounded and taken to an area veterinarian’s office. No owner had been identified at the time.
Underage pot bust: At 10:24 a.m. on April 4 a 15-year-old boy was stopped by deputies along U.S. Highway 6 near New Castle. After an investigation, he was ticketed and released, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than two ounces of marijuana.
Weaving: At 11:40 p.m. on April 4, deputies stopped a car on Highway 6 near Silt for weaving. After an investigation, the driver, Isaac Solorieo Rincon, 29, of Silt, was ticketed for failure to drive in a single lane and driving while his license was under suspension. A passenger, Preston A. King, 24, of Rifle, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court.
