Norm Bolitho addresses students, parents and school officials in the courtyard at Glenwood Springs Elementary School during a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday to mark the start of construction on the new GSES addition and renovation. The Bolitho wing, pictured in the background, was named after Norm's grandfather, former teacher and school principal Skip Bolitho. It will be torn down to make way for the new addition, along with an overhaul of the original 1920s building. The $30 million project is part of the larger $122 million bond issue approved by Roaring Fork School District voters last fall. Another groundbreaking ceremony takes place at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Eastbank site south of Glenwood where a new $34 million K-8 school is being constructed.
