Glenwood Springs Police Report
Editor’s note: The Glenwood Springs Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Theft: At 1:43 p.m. on June 22, police responded to a department store in the 3000 block of Blake Avenue for a man in custody for possible theft of store items worth approximately $40 to replace. Police contacted Ricardo Felipe Dardynski, 23, of Glenwood Springs, placed him into custody and later released him with a summons for petty theft.
Disorderly conduct, tampering: At 3:26 p.m. on June 22, police responded to a parking lot in the 100 block of West Sixth Street for a disturbance. Upon further investigation, officers arrested Alicia Marie Jink, 35, of Grand Junction, and lodged her at the jail for disorderly conduct, obstructing a peace officer and second degree criminal tampering.
DUI: At 5:45 p.m. on June 22, police were dispatched to a hotel in the 1800 block of Grand Avenue for a disturbance. Police arrested Sheri Yvonne Lafond, 51, of Glenwood Springs, for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and lodged her at the county jail.
Negligence: At 7:59 p.m. on June 22, police arrested Darrek Anthony Tainter, 24, of Glenwood Springs, for child abuse-negligence, at Grand Avenue and 13th Street.
DUI, child abuse-negligence: At 8:02 p.m. on June 22, police stopped a vehicle for a lane violation in the 51100 block of Highway 6. The driver, Luis Alvarez Lopez, 28, of Glenwood Springs, was found to be under the influence of alcohol. His child was also not properly restrained in the car. Lopez was arrested and lodged at the Garfield County Jail for charges of suspicion of DUI, failing to drive in a single lane, child abuse, and failing to properly restrain his child.
Disorderly conduct: At 8:30 p.m. on June 22, police contacted a man at Sayre Park for a liquor code violation. Upon further investigation, officers arrested Derek Richard Murray, 42, of Silt, and lodged him at the county jail for obstruction of a peace officer and disorderly conduct.
DUI: At 9:44 p.m. on June 22, police were notified of a REDDI report. Police observed the vehicle drive up onto curb and onto the sidewalk at Seventh Street and Colorado Avenue. The driver, Daniel Alan Thimsen, 57, of Glenwood Springs, showed signs of intoxication and was subsequently arrested for careless driving, suspicion of DUI and NPOI and lodged in Garfield County Jail.
Illegal camping: At 12:42 a.m. on June 23, police observed a vehicle parked strangely at Mount Sopris Drive and Midland Avenue with a man sleeping inside. The man was very intoxicated and was unable to locate a sober party to look after him. Elliott Douglas Egloff, 25, of Eagle, was arrested for illegal camping and lodged at the Garfield County Jail.
