Glenwood Springs Police Report
Editor’s note: The Glenwood Springs Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Warrant arrest: At 4:05 p.m. on Sept. 20, police were advised of a man with two active warrants at a probation office in the 100 block of Eighth Street. Police arrested Joshua Martin Davis, 30, of New Castle, and lodged him at the Garfield County Jail for the active warrants.
Warrant arrest, criminal tampering, criminal mischief: At 10:55 a.m. on Sept. 21, police were dispatched to a report of criminal tampering. Officers arrived on scene and took report of a person that tampered with an electrical box. The suspect was later questioned and admitted to tampering with the box and was in violation of a restraining order and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Leslie B. Durkee Jr., 50, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested on the warrant and charges of violation of restraining order, criminal mischief, and first degree criminal tampering and was lodged at the county jail without incident.
DWAI, weaving: At 11:17 p.m. on Sept. 20, police responded to a report of a R.E.D.D.I. vehicle leaving a bar. Upon arrival, officers stopped a vehicle fitting the description in the 5100 block of Highway 6. Upon further investigation, officers arrested Deborah Lee Temple, 59, of New Castle, for suspicion of DWAI and weaving. She was later lodged at the Garfield County Jail.
Underage drinking, public urination: At 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 21, police observed an intoxicated woman stumble into a parking lot in the 900 block of Grand Avenue. The woman appeared to have fallen behind a wall so officers approached to check on the welfare of the woman and found her urinating in the parking lot. Officers also found her to be under 21 and arrested Leslie Anel Lopez Martinez, 20, of New Castle, for urinating in public and underage drinking. She was taken to the Garfield County Jail where she was lodged on the charges.
DUI, careless driving, resisting arrest: At 1:40 a.m. on Sept. 22, police arrested Eber Lopez, 28, of Rifle in the 900 block of Grand Avenue for suspicion of driving under the influence (excessive content), NPOI, careless driving, driving without a license and resisting arrest. Officers also arrested Ramon Chacon-Dominguez, 31, of Rifle, for second degree forgery, criminal impersonation and open container.
Theft, drugs, trespass: At 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 22, police arrested Jessica Pierson, 19, of Glenwood Springs, in the 600 block of 10th Street for theft, possession of a controlled substance, first-, second- and third-degree trespass, underage drinking and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Theft: At 2:39 p.m. on Sept. 22, police respond to a business in the 3000 block of Blake Avenue for a call of theft of a shirt and some football receiver gloves totaling $32.43. The items were recovered and Kathleen Michelle Geller, 42, of New Castle, was issued a summons into court for petty theft.
Warrant arrest: While assisting another law enforcement agency looking for a man that was involved in a domestic violence incident, officers encountered the suspect. A routine check of CCIC records indicated that there was an active arrest warrant for motor vehicle theft and criminal mischief. David Nicholas Rivera, 23, address unknown, was arrested and jailed on the warrant.
Theft: At 2:45 p.m. on Sept. 25, police were dispatched to a department/discount store in the 3000 block of Blake Avenue for a report of a shoplifter in custody for stealing items worth about. $20. Joseph Baeza Jimenez, 19, of Silt, was issued a summons for petty theft and released.
Warrant arrest: At 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 26, police observed a man in a parking lot in the 2000 block of Grand Avenue who they knew had any outstanding warrant for their arrest. Leslie B. Durkee Jr., 50, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested and lodged at the Garfield County Jail on the outstanding warrant.
Warrant arrest: At 5:40 p.m. on Sept. 26, police responded to a church in the 800 block of Cooper Avenue for a disturbance. A man was contacted who had an outstanding arrest warrant. Michael Gallegos, 31, of Glenwood Springs, was lodged at the county jail without incident.
Assault: At 1:20 a.m. on Sept. 27, police were dispatched to the 300 block of Eighth Street for a report of an incident of Domestic Violence. Officers took a report of assault and arrested Andrea Nicole Klug-Napier, 26, of Glenwood Springs, for third degree assault and released her on a summons.
Shoplifting: At 4:07 p.m. on Sept. 27, police were advised of a theft from a business in the 3000 block of Blake Avenue. Officers responded to the area and contacted a suspect, who admitted to theft and returned items to the officers. Police issued Edward Allen Muniz, 28, of Denver, a summons for petty theft and released him.
DUI, improper turn: At 10:40 p.m. on Sept. 27, police stopped a vehicle at North Traver Trail and Highway 6 for failure to use a turn signal. Upon further investigation, officers arrested Barbara Ann Milligan, 57, of Pueblo, for DUI/D. She was later lodged at the Garfield County Jail.
Drugs, violation of a restraining order: At 1:10 a.m. on Sept. 28, police stopped a car for speeding at Sixth and Laurel streets. The driver, Mary Irene Fears, 37, of Glenwood Springs, was driving on a revoked license and was arrested for speeding and driving under revocation. A search of the car produced drugs and paraphernalia and Fears was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. One of the passengers, Joseph Patrick Moffatt, 28, of Glenwood Springs, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful use of a controlled substance (dangerous drug) and violation of their restraining order. A third passenger was released on a warning. The vehicle was towed.
Theft: At 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 28, police were dispatched to a report of a theft in the 3000 block of Blake Avenue. A man had taken several items from a store, concealed them and exited without attempting to pay for the $34.26 worth of merchandise. Michael Paul Palmgren, 20, of New Castle, was issued a summons for theft and released.
Trespass: At 10:25 p.m. on Sept. 29, police were dispatched to a hotel in the 51000 block of Highway 6 for a report of an intoxicated man. Darrek Anthony Tainter, 25, of Glenwood Springs, was issued a trespass notice and later returned to the hotel. Tainter was then arrested and lodged at the county jail.
Trespass, disorderly conduct: At 9:20 p.m. on Sept. 30, a bar in the 400 block of Seventh Street reported a suspect who was trespassing and causing a verbal disturbance after being requested to leave by manager. Theft, trespass, underage drinking: At 11:26 p.m. on Sept. 30, police were flagged down in the 700 block of Cooper Avenue by a citizen. Police arrested Jessica Pierson, 19, of Glenwood Springs, for theft from a vehicle, underage drinking and trespassing. Police later, at 12:48 a.m. on Oct. 1, arrested Travis Lee Wallen, 34, of Glenwood Springs, for theft from a vehicle and trespassing. Both were lodged at the county jail.
