Go Play Gear: Hippie Runner Funktional Headbands
Helmet sweat dripping, hair flying everywhere — athletes with long locks are constantly at battle.
Try this: Hippie Runner Funktional Headbands keep hair at bay, soak up sweat and stay put. The material is soft and absorbent, plus it fits perfectly underneath a helmet.
The best part? The majority of headbands cost $5 each.
Bonus: For every four purchased, one is free.
More than 500 different patterns and slogans are available online, some featuring funny sayings, like “I’m sweaty and I know it” and “Training for the zombie apocalypse.” See a pattern you like, you better grab it.
Men’s and children’s bands are also available.
ABOUT HIPPIE RUNNER
Hippie Runner Funktional Headbands is based in South Carolina and family run. Owner Leslie Balliette got her start designing expandable belts — a belt with a pouch, able to hold mace, money, and more — for marathon runners.
“We added the headbands a few months later with the leftover fabric,” Balliette said. “The patterns were all so funky, the name just suited us.”
Hippie Runner attends more than 100 running events throughout the United States, including several in Colorado. The next Colorado event is set for the Rock ‘N Roll marathon and half-marathon in Denver on Oct. 19.
