Free Press Insider’s Tip: Don’t miss the annual end-of-season Copper Sunsations festival, where locals and visitors rock out to live music at the base of the mountain! Or hang out at Endo’s Adrenaline Cafe for a casual après experience.

Copper Mountain Resort — an inclusive ski area 20 miles east of Vail — has a laid-back appeal great for all skill levels. Plus, its runs are naturally divided, with the easiest terrain to the west and expert terrain to the east.

For more experienced skiers and boarders wanting better access to challenging terrain: You’re in luck because just this year Copper installed a surface T-bar to Spaulding Bowl, Upper Enchanted Forest and Copper Bowl. And Celebrity Ridge — a new surface lift at the top of the Sierra chairlift — will improve access to Union Peak, Union Meadows, West Ridge and Copper Bowl.

Check out Copper’s pedestrian-friendly village at the base of the mountain for shops, restaurants and après-ski specials. Free parking in the Alpine Lot is available; it’s just a short (also free) shuttle ride to the slopes.
