Rim Rock Adventures — located at 927 Highway 340 in Fruita — is celebrating 25 years of business.

Shelly Bair, alongside her brother, now own the outdoor activity hotspot, which began with their father in 1989.

Starting with just rafting and horseback riding, the Fruita business has expanded to rentals of kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, rafts, and canoes. They also offer shuttle services for those who want to go out on their own.

“Being on the river is a huge bonus,” Bair said.

There are five options for horseback riding, too, with most customers venturing through McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area, Length and time varies; check in with Rim Rock Adventures for details.

It’s highly recommended to make reservations for all activities offered for ages 7 and up, Bair added. Riders are asked to wear jeans or pants, boots or tennis shoes, sunglasses and sunscreen. Don’t forget to bring water and a camera.

If you can’t decide between horseback riding and a rafting trip, Rim Rock Adventures offers the best of both worlds with the Saddles & Paddles option. There is a full-day or a half-day trip available.
