Grand Junction Off-Road pro race results

Grand Junction, Colo. — The Grand Junction Off-Road mountain bike race concluded on Sunday, May 31, with the professional race.

Thirty-nine men and 14 women were vying for $30,000 in cash prizes. First place men and women received $5,000 each.

Returning champion Fernando Riveros Paez was amongst a world-class field of pros including the likes of Jeremiah Bishop, Todd Wells, Ben Sonntag, Alex Grant, and Chris Baddick. On the women’s side, Katerina Nash toed the start line with Katie Compton, Evelyn Dong, Rose Grant, Amy Beisel and Rebecca Hodgetts.

Racers competed for 40 miles.

Pro Men Top Five:

1. Alex Grant, Park City, Utah 2:58.58 — Ridebiker Alliance, Cannondale, Gear Rush

2. Ben Sonntag, Durango, Colo. 2:59.07 — Clif Bar, Niner Bikes, SRAM

3. Chris Baddick, Boulder, Colo. 3:03.34 — Boulder Cycle Sport, Yogaglo

4. Fernando Riveros, Colorado Springs, Colo. 3:04.06 — Raleigh, Clement, Shimano

5. Josiah Middaugh, Vail, Colo. 3:06.15 — ENVE, Felt, Optic Nerve

Pro Women Top Five:

1. Katerina Nash, Emeryville, Calif. 3:33.47 — Luna, Orbea, Shimano

2. Rose Grant, Kalispell, Mont. 3:39.41 — Stan’s NoTubes, Cannondale, Griggs Orthopedics Performance

3. Amy Beisel, Gunnison, Colo. 3:44.48 — LIV Co-Factory, SRAM, OSMOnutrition

4. Rebecca Hodgetts, Dillon, Colo. 3:45.27 — ALP Cycles Coaching

5. Evelyn Dong, Salt Lake City, Utah 3:46.46 — Team Sho-Air/Cannondale
