Grand Valley concerts not to miss this week

Grand Valley restaurants, vineyards and theaters will host a variety of concerts, from opera to metal, this week.

1. CAVALCADE



Cavalcade will host two concerts on Friday, Aug. 1, and Saturday, Aug. 2.

Orion Freeman, along with David Alderdice, will perform Friday, Aug. 1, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are a suggested donation of $10.



Redleg Husky will play on Saturday, Aug. 2, at 8 p.m. Cost is $5 at the door.

Cavalcade is located at 201 E. Aspen Ave., in Fruita.

2. LIVE IN THE VINES

Gerry Goodman will take the stage at Wine Country Inn (777 Grande River Dr., Palisade) on Friday, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m. Hotel guests and diners at Caroline’s Restaurant or Tapestry Lounge (inside Wine Country Inn) are encouraged to attend for free. There’s a $5 cover charge for non-guests. Dancing is encouraged.

3. MADAME BUTTERFLY

High Desert Opera will perform Madame Butterfly on Saturday, Aug. 2, at 7 p.m. at Robinson Theatre, on Colorado Mesa University’s campus (1100 N. 12th St., Grand Junction). Professional opera singers will perform it in English. Tickets cost between $10-39 depending on seats. Discounts are available for adults over 55 and children under 13.

4. MESA THEATER AND LOUNGE

Buckcherry will rock the stage at Mesa Theater Saturday, Aug. 2, at 8 p.m. Special guests include Augmented and Pirate Locomotive. Tickets cost $25 for all ages.

Then chill out with cool vibes from Tribal Seeds, Tatanka, Giver’s Gain and Zolopht on Thursday, Aug. 7, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for all ages.

5. THE ALE HOUSE

For a little Americana music, The Littlest Birds will perform Wednesday, Aug. 6, at The Ale House. The show starts at 6 p.m. and is free and for all ages. The Ale House is located at 2531 N. 12th St., in Grand Junction.

6. FRUITA CONCERT SERIES

Enjoy a free concert at Fruita Civic Center Park on Thursday, Aug. 7. The Williams Brothers Band will start playing at 7:30 p.m. Bring a chair and a friend.

The park is located at 325 E. Aspen Ave., in Fruita.
