Highway 133 construction kickoff meeting Monday night
The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce hosts a kick-off event for the $9.4 million Highway 133 improvement project on Monday, May 12, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Sopris Shopping Center, 920 Highway 133.
Representatives from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), the Town of Carbondale, and the construction contractor will be on hand with displays and information about the project, as well as plans to minimize project impacts to businesses and residents. The event will also feature coupons and discounts from Carbondale businesses, prize giveaways, appetizers and live music with Rick Roc & the Roosters.
Construction is anticipated to begin mid-month and conclude in the fall. Plans include widening the highway, reconfiguring lanes, the addition of sidewalks, trail connections and the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Highway 133 and Main Street.
CDOT has also scheduled a pre-construction meeting at Carbondale Town Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on May 15.
