Interstate 70 through DeBeque Canyon reopens

Interstate 70 through DeBeque Canyon reopened late this afternoon after being closed much of the day because of a rockslide that had blocked the eastbound lanes. Westbound lanes were also closed, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation, until the hillside from which the rocks fell was stabilized.
No one was injured.
During the closure, I-70 traffic was being diverted to Highway 65 over Grand Mesa, about a 90-mile detour, according to CDOT officials.
