Ladies, we all have fitness goals — whether it’s losing weight, running a 5K or simply getting a 30-minute brisk walk in every day. Plus, exercise is always more fun with friends. What better way to make new friends than to sweat together in an encouraging environment?
Kaia FIT is a new women-led, women-only fitness program, and it’s coming to the Grand Valley this June.
Set for Grand Junction’s new Absolute Dance studio located at 2460 Patterson Road, Kaia FIT will bring new workout routines for women from beginners to advanced.
“You get to meet people from around the community to have the same experience as you,” Kaia FIT owner and instructor Brianna Brodak said. “It’s a friendly and welcoming environment.”
Brodak, a Grand Valley native, comes back to the area with her husband and daughter, Lucy.
There are two program options — BRIK (a boot-camp session) is a six-week program, meeting five days a week; and CORE is a five-week program, meeting four days a week.
The program started in 2009 by Nikki Warren in Minden, Nev., where Brodak began taking classes.
Kaia FIT is for all fitness levels — from never been to a gym before to those looking to compete.
“It’s a place for everyone working towards the same skill and exercises,” Brodak said.
She explains that if you are brand new to exercise, the classes take baby steps initially on the path to reaching fitness goals.
“For example, instead of a pushup on the floor, you would do it on the wall to get the motion down,” Brodak said.
Sessions also include nutritional guidance and assessments. Classes are set for 5 a.m., 6 a.m., 9 a.m., and 5:30 p.m.
The cost for a five-week session is $135, a six-week session is $249, and a monthly VIP membership is available for $119.50 (including a reserved class spot, five to six classes a week, nutrition, wellness support, and more).
Free sessions are available until Friday, June 13. Sessions are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 5 a.m., 6 a.m., 9 a.m., or 5:30 p.m.
Brodak was an instructor at a Kaia FIT in Carson City, Nev., since 2010. After a long recovery from the birth of her daughter, she went to Kaia FIT to help her get back into shape. The coaches were supportive and encouraging, which created a life-changing experience.
After 12 weeks of the program, she was five pounds less than her pre-birth weight.
“I was more fit than ever before,” Brodak said.
Brodak hopes to share that same feeling with others here in the Grand Valley.
“It’s very community oriented and women like to work out in groups and learn from each other,” Brodak said.
