Mesa County mother and young son missing

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in locating a woman and her young son who are reportedly missing.
Shannon Kunkel, 34, was last seen on G 3/8 Road in Palisade, according to a missing person report. The report did not include details related to when she was seen on that road.
Her parents woke up at 5:30 a.m. Saturday and found a note from their daughter stating she was going into town. Kunkel left with her son, Luke Kunkel Jr., 1½, in a dark blue 1992 Toyota Camry. The two have not been seen or heard from since.
