MG ‘rallye’ hits Glenwood this weekend
The 63rd annual Rallye Glenwood Springs is in town through Sunday. After coming through Arvada and across the Continental Divide, participants plan a car show at Two Rivers Park.
The “rallye” is a gathering of British MG sports cars from across Colorado and the country, hence the British spelling of rally.
The time-speed-distance rally is advertised as a “marvelous opportunity” for sports car enthusiasts. On Friday, the distance rally went through Lakewood to Glenwood.
Saturday is a “scenic road tour” through Glenwood, followed by a social gathering. Sunday is the car show and awards presentation at Two Rivers.

Current Basalt officials say the town government has violated the Colorado Taxpayers’ Bill of Right by increasing the property tax mill levy over the prior years 10 times since the mid-2000s. Two former mayors contend the mill levy could be adjusted in any given year as long as it didn’t exceed the mill levy in 1994. It’s a $2 million question.
