New Year’s Day coat drive warms up Glenwood Springs

The Glenwood Springs Community Center will ring in 2019 today with a holiday coat drive.

Located at 100 Wulfsohn Road, the community center will accept any lightly used coat and jacket donations between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday, New Year’s Day.

Additionally, each person who donates a coat or jacket will receive one complimentary day-pass to the community center. Day passes are one per person, not one per donation.

Victim ID’d in Harvey Gap drowning

The Garfield County Coroner identified Silt resident Justin Yenter, 37, as the victim in a drowning at Harvey Gap Reservoir. According to investigators, Yenter was on a boat in the reservoir when a gust of wind knocked him overboard into the water.
