NW Oil & Gas Forum Sept. 12 in Rifle
RIFLE — Area residents interested in the oil and gas industry are invited to the Northwest Colorado Oil & Gas Forum in Rifle on Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Colorado Mountain College Rifle Campus.
The forum, which has offered a semi-formal setting for government and industry officials, as well as citizens, has been ongoing since 1989, as a chance for the interested parties to share information about the industry and give the public an opportunity to talk directly to government and industry spokespersons.
Presentations and updates at this forum will be by David Andrews of the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC); David Boyd, spokesman for the U.S. Bureau of Land Management; Kirby Wynn, Garfield County’s oil and gas liaison; and Sher Long of the Community Counts organization.
In addition, operators in the industry will provide updates concerning their development plans in the region.
Start a dialogue, stay on topic and be civil.
If you don't follow the rules, your comment may be deleted.
Former Carbondale trustee Katrina Byars said she wants to bring a voice of environmental sustainability to the commission, and believes her opponent has served long enough.
