Obituary: Virginia D. Flager, November 7, 1926 — June 30, 2014

Virginia D. Flager passed away in Palisade, Colo., on June 30 at the age of 88.

She was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Joyce City, Ark., to Ethel Sanders Oliver and C.E. Oliver. Ethel passed away on Feb 25, 1927. Virginia was 9 months old when she was adopted by Jade and Stella Dadd of Palisade, Colo.

She went to Palisade High School. When she was about 14-15 years old, she was reunited with two of her brothers, Raymond D. Oliver and George D. Oliver. Virginia was one of eight children, but only two brothers were found. She went on to graduate from Palisade High School. Then she worked for Boeing Aircraft. She was married to Laurence Flager.

Virginia was a hard-working women with high expectations. She also worked for Day Johnson. Virginia was a successful business owner in the Grand Valley in numerous enterprises. She was preceded in death by her brothers Raymond D. Oliver and George D. Oliver.

She is survived by her adopted brother Jasped Dadd; niece Renee Oliver Gomez; and nephews Ralph D. Oliver of Texas, Russell Oliver and great-nephew Randy Emmons.

I will miss you, Aunt Virginia. You will always be in my heart. Love you.
