Old CMC headquarters sells for $1.2 million
Colorado Mountain College’s former headquarters at 831 Grand Ave. in Glenwood sold last week for $1.2 million, CMC purchasing and contracts manager Steve Boyd confirmed.
“We think it’s a fair price, and we’re excited about somebody coming in and developing that property,” said Boyd. “It’s a win-win-win for us, the buyer, and the town.”
The winning bid came from Top Chord Investments LLC, and the purchase closed on Aug. 28.
The sum is close to the $1,170,620 actual value the Garfield County Assessor lists for the two-story, 20,500-square-foot building. The money is budgeted in the school’s master plan to help cover the $3.8 million cost of its current location across the street at 802 Grand.
CMC’s central support staff and ArtShare gallery made the move in 2012. Aside from hosting a few events for Colorado Animal Rescue, 831 Grand has sat vacant since then.
There is currently no indication what Top Chord Investments’ plans are for the space.
