GYPSUM — A single vehicle accident left one man dead and another person in unknown condition, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

Around 8 p.m. Monday, a westbound Ford Ranger pickup truck rolled into the median of Interstate 70, just east of the Gypsum exit. The truck’s cab was bent and flattened after it came to rest, facing east and on the inside shoulder of the eastbound lane.

The crash left a male occupant dead at the scene, the State Patrol said.

According to emergency scanner reports, another possible occupant was transported to the Vail Valley Medical Center.

The State Patrol did not release the names of the accident victims.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
