Parks shoreline report presented Wednesday

Results of the recent Two Rivers and Veltus parks shoreline restoration and improvements survey will presented during a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Glenwood Springs Community Center. Gary Lacy of Recreation Engineers and Planning will also share the report with the city’s Parks and Recreation Commission at 5:30 p.m.

The report is based on information provided by several hundred surveys completed online, in writing or in person during random sampling in July and August. The survey asked people what kinds of shoreline improvements they would like to see along the Roaring Fork and Colorado rivers as they pass by the two city parks.

The report and any follow-up comments at the Wednesday meetings will “further the effort to create community awareness with regard to obstacles and opportunities associated with the two shoreline areas,” said Tom Barnes, city Parks and Recreation director.
