A fire caused extensive damage to two homes in the Reserve in Edwards on Thursday morning. At 1:04 a.m., the Eagle River Fire Protection District was dispatched to the fire, and, upon arrival, crews immediately began checking the homes for people in the affected structure. Residents that were at home sleeping during the time of the fire were all able to get out safely. Due to the size and rate of growth of the fire, a second alarm was issued and multiple Eagle County agencies responded. The fire was brought under control quickly, but there was extensive fire damage to two units and smoke and water damage to two other units. No one was injured in the fire, and the cause is under investigation.

Eagle River Fire Protection District, Vail Fire and Emergency Services, Greater Eagle Fire Protection District, the Gypsum Fire Protection District, Eagle County Paramedic Services, Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado State Patrol, Red Cross and The Salvation Army all responded to the fire.
