An epic season comes to a close at Powderhorn Mountain Resort on Grand Mesa this weekend — Friday through Sunday, March 28-30.

“Sunday is the last day of the season,” Powderhorn’s spokesman Dave Smith said. “All good things have to come to an end. We have a whole bunch going on.”

Margaritaville Weekend events will include $15 Friday night skiing along with comedy night from 4:30-6 p.m.; Saturday features six o’clock skiing (also $15), racing (skier and boarder cross) and live music by JACK+JILL; then on Sunday Powderhorn will host the Slush Sprocket Mountain Bike Race (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.), an afternoon pig roast, live music by Zolpht and the Destroyers, and the annual pond skim.

“Conditions are still really, really good,” Smith added. “We still have more than six feet of snow for the base.”

There’s also plenty to do at Powderhorn, even if you don’t want to ski.

“We want everyone to enjoy the final days of the season,” he noted. “Come out and celebrate!”

NEXT YEAR, ALREADY?

For those die-hard P’horn passholders, don’t lose heart — season passes for next year are already on sale through April 20. An adult pass is $410.

“These are the best rates for the 2014-15 season,” Smith said.
