The snow gods were kind to Powderhorn Mountain Resort during the 2012-13 ski season, which culminated with a bonus ski weekend April 20-21. The ski area reopened for a few extra days after closing for the year when a huge spring storm dumped major snow across Colorado.

“Crowds were great,” said General Manager Daren Cole of the extra weekend Powderhorn stayed open for business.

The resort also reported three feet of fresh powder since April 1, a Powderhorn news release noted.

Skier days for the 2012-13 winter season increased from the previous season as well, Cole said.

“(The season was) up 4 percent over last year,” he added, with pass sales also up 17 percent from the previous year.
