RFSD seeks members for school board

Roaring Fork School District is looking for two new board of education members to replace Terry Lott Richardson and Richard Stettner, who have moved out of their respective director districts.

Richardson vacates a position in District C, which covers most of Missouri Heights and parts of southern Glenwood Springs. Stettner’s District A includes the eastern half of Carbondale as well as Willits and Old Snowmass. A map is available at tinyurl.com/rfsddistricts.

The application deadline is Oct. 10, with public interviews scheduled for Oct. 16. Candidates must be a resident of one of the aforementioned districts and have been a registered elector of the school district for at least 12 consecutive months. Interested parties are encouraged to attend an informational meeting at Bridges High School at 5 p.m. Sept. 24.

Those selected will serve through November 2015. After that, the voters will decide whether the District A board member should serve the remaining two years of the term, while the District C representative will have a chance to run for a fresh four-year term.
