Rifle woman killed in I-70 rollover accident

A 60-year-old Rifle woman died of injuries sustained in a rollover on Interstate 70 Tuesday morning, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The woman appeared to have lost control of her eastbound Ford Ranger near mile marker 92 just east of Rifle, spun and run off the road, across the median and into the westbound lanes, rolling at least twice in the process.

She was taken to Grand River Hospital, where efforts to save her were unsuccessful. Her identity was being withheld pending the notification of her family.

Light snow Tuesday morning created the potential for slick spots, and the State Patrol urged drivers to slow down in such conditions.
