After more than four years in business, Naggy McGee’s Irish Pub will close its doors for good on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 4 p.m. Located in a historic structure at the corner of Colorado Avenue and Fourth Street in downtown Grand Junction, it’s been a favorite meeting spot for live music, drinks, food and friends.

“Thanks to all the great people who’ve come down,” Naggy McGee’s operator Brian Oliver said. “There’s been a lot of good times.”

According to Oliver, Naggy McGee’s is closing mainly because of Grand Junction’s still stagnating economy.

“It’s just not profitable anymore,” he explained, though he hopes another operator decides to re-open the recently revamped restaurant space soon.

To go out with a bang, Naggy McGee’s will also host two live performances — Gerry Goodman on Friday, Aug. 15, at 9 p.m.; then Vintage Voltage will perform on Saturday, Aug. 16, at 9 p.m.

“Come say goodbye and have a good time,” Oliver added.
