Roosters wing business in Clifton to close Dec. 31
WHAT: Fly’n Roosters
WHERE: 200 Grand Ave., Grand Junction, CO
WHEN: Open daily
Roosters, a hot wing and sandwich eatery in Clifton, will close at the end of the year. Fly’n Roosters, its second location, will continue operations at the corner of First Street and Grand Avenue.
“We’re streamlining operations and focusing on our First Street location,” said Ann Danner, who owns both restaurants with her husband, Steve. “It was a tough decision.”
According to Ann Danner, most of the Roosters staff will continue employment with the Danners at the Fly’n Roosters location.
“We’re looking at options for the Roosters location,” she added.
Upcoming events at Fly’n Roosters include Super Bowl Sunday and a wing-eating contest on Feb. 7. Folks interested in entering the competition should inquire at the restaurant.
Besides wings, Fly’n Roosters offers a full food and drink menu, including sandwiches, burgers, beer and Bloody Marys
The Danners have owned and operated Clifton’s Roosters for 13 years and the Grand Junction location for about a decade. Six years ago the Danners became sole proprietors of both wing businesses. Before owning restaurants, Steve Danner worked as an airplane mechanic for 30 years.
“Come to the First Street location and check us out,” Ann Danner said. “We value our customers.”
