Schedule changes at food commodities LIFT-UP for 2014

Eligible individuals may receive USDA commodities through LIFT-UP for the coming year at the Carbondale food pantry on the second Tuesday of each month, at the Glenwood Springs pantry on the second Wednesday of each month, at the New Castle pantry on the second Thursday of each month, at the Rifle pantry on the second Monday of each month, and at the Parachute pantry on the first Monday of each month.

All commodities distribution will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the appointed days, and the food pantries will be closed on those days for all other services.

Beginning in January, LIFT-UP’s Glenwood Springs food pantry at 1004 Grand Ave. will be open each week on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Volunteers are always needed at LIFT-UP’s food pantries and thrift stores, and January is a great time to start. Just a few hours a month will help us meet the needs of our neighbors.

Call the LIFT-UP office at 970-625-4496 to find out how to get involved.
