Selfies: Collaborating to fight hunger one bowl at a time

Colorado Mountain College Rifle Campus and Grand River Health have teamed up for CMC’s 50th anniversary to help fight hunger one bowl at a time. Grand River Meals on Wheels is hosting its third annual Empty Bowls luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in the Grand River Ballroom and will be taking donations of $20. Included in the $20 is a one-of-a-kind handmade bowl from the CMC ceramics class and a hand crafted soup that will be made by CMC culinary students. The CMC students have been busy making over 400 bowls and planning what soups to make for many months. Last year’s Empty Bowls event made over $7,380 for Grand River Meals on Wheels, which benefits the elderly and homebound from New Castle to Parachute.
