Silt man arrested in slaying of his father
After an unattended death near Silt was deemed suspicious, Anthony William Padia, 27, was arrested on Friday and charged with second-degree murder in the death of his father, Leon Padia, age 65.
According to a Garfield County Sheriff’s Office press release, deputies responded to the unattended death report on Wednesday and issued a search warrant on Friday. Padia was arrested later that day and is being held at the Garfield County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
Authorities did not disclose the manner of death or other details.
The investigation is ongoing.
