Silt structure fire under investigation

The cause of a single-structure fire in Silt Monday is under investigation. Colorado River Fire Rescue was dispatched to a single-family residence at 1225 Rimrock Drive at 6:07 a.m., according to a press release. The three occupants were awakened by smoke and were able to evacuate safely.

The first apparatus arrived within approximately six minutes. The crew reported smoke and flames coming from a window.

The home sustained significant fire and smoke damage. Total dollar loss has not yet been established. No firefighters or civilians were injured.



A total of 16 firefighters responded to the fire. Glenwood Springs Fire Department, Colorado State Patrol, Silt Police Department and Garfield County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the effort.
