Claudia Ruiz, 44, of Silt, has been missing since May 17, her family reports.

No foul play is suspected, and local police are treating the matter as an “attempt to locate” rather than a missing person.

Ruiz’s family said she has a history of mental illness and has gone missing before, though never for so long. She was last seen in Glenwood Springs on Saturday morning. When her daughter attempted to flag her down, she boarded an upvalley RFTA bus. People have since reported seeing her in Basalt, Glenwood and Rifle, although none of these sightings has been confirmed.

Ruiz, who may be using her maiden name, Perez, is 5 feet 2 inches, 180 pounds, has brown hair with blonde highlights and brown eyes, and is likely wearing a blue windbreaker, a white skirt and white flip flops. She may seem confused and disoriented.

Ruiz’s family has asked that anyone who sees her call her daughter Jennehii Ruiz (970-618-4454), son Eliel Ruiz (970-989-3907), or their local police department.
