Smotherman dies in Denver

CARBONDALE — Frank Smotherman, a longtime local real estate agent, one-time town trustee and Garfield County Commission candidate, and a well-known man about town, died on Thursday night at a hospital in Denver, according to his ex-wife.

Cindy Sadlowski, also a real estate agent, sent a message to the Post Independent on Friday saying Frank “had fallen and broken his neck badly” in a recent mishap, which caused him to be hospitalized.

No further information was available from the family on Friday.
