Stolen RFTA van recovered in Denver
A Roaring Fork Transit Authority van that went missing in mid August was recovered in Denver last week, with no leads on who might be responsible.
The keys were left in the vehicle when it was parked in front of a Carbondale office on Aug. 11, the same day a hit-and-run suspect led Colorado State Patrol on a chase along Highway 133 and fled on foot a few miles south of town. Police have not been able to establish with certainty whether the two incidents were related.
Nothing of evidenciary value was discovered when the van was processed after being discovered in Denver on Aug. 27.
